Pinto and the Bean
Testimonials

I found these guys on a random website while I was randomly looking for new music. From that point on, I had a new favorite band. Then I discovered that they were from Chicago, not too far from me, and that they were playing soon. So a friend and I drove up to the city to see them. They treated me like a good friend, and their show blew my mind. I now consider Paul and Ivan two of the best musicians and friends I have ever had the privilege of meeting, and I do everything I can to spread the unique and extraordinary quality of their music to others. - Johnny Gibbons (Bourbonnais, IL)

Unpretentious, tuneful and fun, but I'm not sure which one is Pinto and which one is the Bean. - Steve Kravac (Hollywood, CA)

A friend of mine showed me a recording of Pinto And The Bean's song called "Robot Wars" and I instantly got addicted to it and listened to it a million times. Then once I got a hold of the full record "The Waiting Place", I loved every song. I like their music because it's different, but it grabbed a hold of me very easily. My two favorites are "Rebuild Everything" and "Eleazar". I was really excited to see them live after listening to their music on CD so much and they are so fun. I try to go to as many shows as I can. They are such awesome guys! I <3 them! - Diana Reed (Geneva, IL)

I discovered Pinto and the Bean last summer (2011). I REALLY enjoy their music. The kind of stuff that gets stuck in your head but like ALOT. And after going to their shows and getting to know Paul and Ivan, they are the most awesome friends ever. I love the heart, and you guys too. - Sandy (Wheaton, IL)

Midnight Monsters was a song my husband and I tripped on while surfing the internet. Pinto and the Bean have become a favorite band of ours. We have since developed a sincere friendship with Paul and Ivan, and have found that their music radiates from their personality. So this is a band that is truly real in every sense of the word. - Michelle Gibbons (Bourbonnais, IL)

It blows my mind that this band is only made up of two guys. The fact that two guys, Paul Taneja - guitar/keys/vocals and Ivan Sosa - drums/keys/vocals, can rival the sounds of bands with 4 or 5 members is astonishing. That right there just screams, "Kickass talent!" to me. Their album 'The Waiting Place' is so diverse it's fucking ridiculous. I love this band. - Jolynn Scott, Badass Bands Blog (Clovis, CA)

I've worked closely with Paul on his music (producing/drumming) for over 10 years. Once I met Ivan and heard how their styles complimented each other, I truly felt like their combination brought the best of their skills out of each other and created something new and refreshing. Their first record (The Waiting Place) is definitely worth checking out. The songs are addicting. I think they can appeal to people who are kind of bored with a lot of the music out there, especially in the mainstream, as well as people who just like to hear something good. It's a blend of pop and indie with some identifiable influences, mixed with their own unique sound. They have a good sense of so many styles that they draw from and good taste in music, which I think is really important in the making of a great band. Can't wait to hear and see what they make next. If you love the Bean, then help them spread their music to as many people as possible! - Nick Palazzo - OphurLabs.com (Woodridge, IL)

I have to admit that as a music lover myself that I am extremely into eccentric and eclectic music. Such music isn't quite found in local scenes and when it is you embrace and love it for its talent and accessibility. However, that rarely happens and I was lucky by circumstance and by a great promoter of the Latino music scene Sandra Trevino, we were booked to open for Pinto and the Bean and we as a band, audience and an individual were amazed at the great performance delivered by this energetic duo who are funny, charming, and extremely talented - with strong blazing guitars and quick precised drumming, and beautiful vocals by Paul and Ivan make it a beautiful and ethereal experience - like watching The Cure, My Bloody Valentine, and Air and many more bands that give that very same experience - I am lucky to have shared a stage with them and own 'The Waiting Place' with songs like Lets make Noise, Miss America, Robot Wars, Midnight Monsters and a great example of Ivan's strong and sentimental vocals on Eleazar. I highly recommend this band. Finally, they also carry inspirational art like t-shirts and stickers and great videos. So please check them out and believe me you wont be disappointed. - Adriana Rodriguez of Wonderland Honey (Chicago, IL)

I think that in order to compose a great song, you need to not only have talent as a musician but also a talented engineer to bring 'the' musicians heart alive. 'Pinto and the Bean' and musical engineer/video producer, Nick Palazzo is the next big thing to hit it big in what all of us ever wanted. The collaborative efforts of these three personal good friends of mine never cease to amaze me. If you have a serious appreciation for indie bands that literally create a brand new style to fulfill what your heart and soul ever wanted, Pinto and the Bean are exactly that. I've known front man, Paul Taneja for almost 18 years now. As a fly on the wall(so to speak) I've seen him go through countless ups and downs trying to make it in this world as a happy and satisfied musician. After years of trying to create what is new and fresh while trying to keep his soul 'in check', he's finally gotten it! The 'musical marriage' between Paul, Ivan and Nick is immaculate, pure and never ceases to fulfill the sweetest ear candy that we all should not gobble up...but rather, savor - Joseph Buechner (Chicago, IL)

Paul and Ivan of Pinto and the Bean might be the two hardest-working men in indie-power-pop-rock. Not only do they put on a fantastic show, they genuinely care about each and every person in the audience. If you don't believe me, go see P and the B live. But watch out; their songs are highly addictive! - Maya Kuper of SAFEWORD (Chicago, IL)
